How do I Join Bullard Southern?
Bullard Southern is a family of believers in Jesus Christ. At the end of each worship service, an invitation is given to those that would want to make a decision. You can become a member in one of four ways:

Accepting Jesus as your Lord and Savior and being baptized by immersion

If you have already accepted Jesus, but have not been baptized by immersion, then by following Him in believer's baptism

Transfer of membership by letter from another Baptist Church or a another church of like faith and order

On Statement of having previously accepted Christ and experienced baptism as a member of another Baptist church or church of like faith and order.

Is the music contemporary?
A huge debate has arisen in churches over whether traditional music or contemporary music is "right." We believe that God has inspired people throughout the ages to write hymns and songs of praise, and that He continues to inspire musicians from all generations to write music that praises Him and brings glory to His name. Our music minister uses a blend of styles of music to help us worship and glorify God. You will hear a great mix of contemporary Christian music, scripture-based original choruses, old gospel favorites, and traditional hymns. The focus of all of our worship services is to bring glory and honor to God and encourage all worshipers.

Do I have to dress up?
No, you don't. We encourage people to dress comfortably, but to dress for worship of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. For some, that may mean dressing in “coats and ties” and “Sunday Dresses.” But for some, it simply means wearing clothes suitable for worship. We want everyone to come, be comfortable, and enjoy worshiping and learning about God together.

Is there a “Sunday Morning Bible Study Class” for me?
Yes. We offer classes for all age groups. Our nursery-pre/K department provides excellent care for your little ones while taking the opportunity to begin teaching them an awareness of God. Our K-6th grade children focus on learning more about Jesus, the Bible, and God’s work in their lives. Our 716 Students (7th-12th grade) spend time digging deep into God’s Word and learning how to apply it to their lives at home, school, and beyond. We offer a variety of adult classes, designed for singles and couples, men’s and ladies that challenge us all to learn more about God. Bible Study class is also a great way to develop Christian friendships. You are encouraged and welcome to visit any class and find the one that best fits your preference.

What are"Bullard Southern Nights"?
On Sunday and Wednesday evenings, our adults come together to Connect, Grow and Serve.  Sunday Night Together and Wednesday Night Together center around the words of Jesus in Matthew 18:20, "For where two or three come together in My name, there am I with them. We strive to offer several ministries for all ages on these evenings.  Sunday Nights Together include, small group and large group Bible Studies, Outreach and In-reach, and discipleship training classes to improve our spiritual walk with Christ.  Wednesday Nights Together center around Colossians 4:12, "Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful."  We meet together for the purpose of praying for one another.

What will my Baby and/or preschooler do while I am
in the Worship Service?

At Bullard Southern, we encourage the importance of family worship time. Therefore, for children over four years of age, we support them attending the worship service with their family. We conduct biannual preschool promotions for our young ones on or around September 1st and March 1st. At the promotion date following a child’s fourth birthday, we have a recognition time during our worship service, introducing them to “big church” and provide them with a “Big Church Bag” filled with goodies. During the worship service, all children are encouraged to participate in the fun and interesting children’s sermon provided.

Bullard Southern also provides safe and loving nursery and toddler care during all worship services. Children through age four are assigned to preschool rooms based on their date of birth. During worship services, our two and three year olds have a learning time, called “Wigglin’ Worship,” in which they have Bible story time, singing time, and craft time.

What is Bible Study Time like for my children?
Babies through two year olds remain in our nurturing nursery and toddler care during Bible Study Time. However, at Bullard Southern we believe children are able to learn about Jesus and His love at a very early age. Therefore, we provide Early Christian Awareness (ECA) for children who are approximately six months through two years of age. In ECA, children are introduced to the wonder of God's world and all that is in it through their sense of sight, taste, touch, smell and sound.

Our Bible Study classes begin with our three year old class and continues through our sixth graders. We are proud of our team of dedicated teachers who make children’s Bible Study fun and engaging.

Geared at reaching the unsaved and/or un-churched children in our community as well as growing children spiritually, PraiseKids is a strongly evangelical program. What other activities or ministries
do you have?

Bullard Southern seeks to offer other activities and ministries that help everyone connect, grow, and serve-not just within the church but beyond these walls. We offer various Bible studies, mission service projects and trip opportunities, and fellowship opportunities throughout the year. We also host a MOPS group (Mothers of PreSchoolers), FItSteps Exercise Ministry, and the Bullard Area Seniors activity group (community based program).

What is a Southern Baptist Church?
A brief history of Southern Baptist churches includes the following:
In 1845 a group of Baptist churches met in Augusta, Georgia, and agreed to begin cooperating together to do missions work around the world. From there the denomination began and grew. Today there are over 16 million Southern Baptists and some 42,000 churches. The denomination exists so that churches can cooperate together to do missions work on a local, state, national and international level. The main way that Southern Baptists work cooperatively is by giving money to the Cooperative Program. The Cooperative Program funds many ministries around the world, including the following:
• The six Southern Baptist seminaries for theological training of church leaders
• The North American Mission Board (NAMB) for mission work in the United States and Canada
• The International Mission Board (IMB) for mission work around the world
Bullard Southern also cooperates with churches on a local level to do work in Smith and Cherokee County through the Smith Baptist Association and we cooperate with other Texas churches through the Baptist General Convention of Texas and the Southern Baptist of Texas Convention to do work in our state.
